Our Lady of Mount Carmel is a large parish with many ministries that are ongoing during the coronavirus precautions, including e-learning at the OLMC School and the Faith Formation department sending resources to their ministry participants.

    Festivities begin at 10 a.m. with the procession including the beloved statue of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Italian sodalities and family candle houses. As it has for years, the procession will wind through the streets of Melrose Park, Illinois. All are welcome to join us in this historic devotion to Our Lady!   The feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel was first held in This feast enlivened the desire to have a church dedicated to the fulfillment of religious duties and to venerate the Blessed Mother.

      Unlike other Brooklyn events, the Our Lady of Mount Carmel and San Paolino di Nola Feast is based in a tradition that got its start in Italy over 1, years ago, with its Author: Devin Gannon.   At the heart of Italian-American experience in the Brooklyn diocese is a strong devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. In Italian Williamsburg, Brooklyn, the residents of the community look forward to the annual Giglio Feast held every July. Sincewhen the Nolani immigrants first held their transplanted feast in this Brooklyn neighborhood, this festa has attempted to maintain many of the traditions from the Mezzogiorno, while adjusting to the new culture in America and accommodating the pressure to change.
